Dad, I’ve given him a chance, my betrothed, my guiding light,
For a couple of years now, he’s been my shelter, my beacon in the night.
He’s been an elder brother figure, loving, caring, and true,
Respectful and kind, with a heart that’s pure, and a love that shines through.
Sometimes, he shows a jealous side, but it’s only because he cares,
And I know that he’ll always be there, to wipe away my tears.
I’m starting to fall in love with him, more with each passing day,
He’s better than the boys in school, in every way.
His maturity, his wisdom, his heart, and his gentle hands,
Make me feel safe, and cherished, in his loving plans.
When the time is right, for intimacy, I know he’ll be gentle and kind,
And he’ll make a good husband, to me, and a father, to our children in mind.
He’ll lead our home, with strength, and grace, and a loving heart,
And I’ll stand by his side, as his partner, from the very start.
So, Dad, I know you were worried, about my young heart,
But I know that I’ve made the right choice, from the very start.
He’s the one, I want to spend, the rest of my life with,
The one, I want to build, a family, and a home, with.
