The Courage to Inform

category

In a world where misinformation spreads like wildfire’s flame,
And intentional harm lurks, with a sinister aim,
As a parent, it’s your duty, to be the first in line,
To break the topics, that might make you feel decline.

Don’t let outsiders shape, your children’s fragile mind,
Be the first to tell them, and leave no room for misalign,
Though it may seem awkward, and hard to find the words,
Remember, silence can be harmful, and perpetuate the blur.

Sex, drugs, pregnancy, alcohol, and gender-based violence too,
These topics may be tough, but your children need the truth from you,
Don’t shy away, or assume someone else will take the lead,
Be the one to guide them, with honesty and integrity’s creed.

Be open, be clear, and be approachable, as they grow,
So they can come to you, with questions, and concerns that show,
That you’re the trusted source, the safe and loving space,
Where they can learn, and understand, without the weight of disgrace.

By being the first to tell, you’ll build a bond of trust,
And help your children navigate, the world’s complexities and rust,
So find the courage, to have these talks with care,
And be the guardian of truth, that your children need to share.

In a world of uncertainty, be the beacon of light,
That shines bright with knowledge, and guides them through the night,
Be the first to inform, and shape their young minds with care,
And give them the tools, to face the world with confidence and flair.
