I stand before you, with a heart full of pride,
The most qualified candidate, with a heritage to abide.
A true citizen of the United States, with roots that run deep,
A family tree that’s diverse, with a story to keep.
My father’s from Chicago, where the winds of change blow,
My mother’s from Texas, where the heart is big and slow.
My grandmother’s from Washington, where the mountains meet the sky,
My grandfather’s from New Jersey, where freedom’s spirit never dies.
My great grandfather’s of black descent, with a legacy of strife,
My great grandmother’s Native American, with a wisdom that’s rife.
Their blood runs through my veins, a mix of cultures and might,
A true American story, that shines with beauty and light.
I’m a product of this nation, with all its strengths and flaws,
A leader who understands, the struggles and the laws.
I’ll use my heritage, to bridge the gaps and unite,
To make America greater, for all, day and night.
