#Ito took his first steps as a footballer in the youth department of the Japanese first division club Júbilo Iwata, where he received his first professional contract in 2018.
Ito played a total of 60 league games for Júbilo Iwata and on loan at Nagoya Grampus (4 goals) before moving to VfB #Stuttgart for the 2021/22 season. He played in 97 competitive games for the Swabians, scoring two goals. In June 2022, the former junior international made his debut for #Japan’s senior national team, for which he has played 19 times and scored one goal.
Ito also played at the 2022 #WorldCup, when his team reached the knockout rounds and narrowly missed out on a place in the quarter-finals in a penalty shootout against #Croatia.
