#Timo Becker has won the “Fair Play of the Season” award given by the German Football League (DFL). Our defender was nominated for his fair play in the Storks’ match against SV #Wehen Wiesbaden on matchday 32 and beat the five other nominees.

Becker has undoubtedly presented himself as a fair sportsman, stressed DFB legend Philipp Lahm, who selected the six fair play moments from last season. “After he was hit, he told his opponent directly that he had not been fouled. The combination of engaging in dialogue with the opponent and later emphasizing in the interview that fair play is the be-all and end-all is remarkable,” praised the 113-time German international.
“I am delighted to have won the trophy and would like to thank everyone who voted for me,” said Becker. “This shows me that fairness always wins in the end – and that’s how it should be!” added the newly crowned winner.
