On Saturday afternoon, VfL met the host top division team in the Wersestadion in Ahlen, just over an hour away. Debut in the blue and white kit for several new faces, on the pitch and on the bench. 22 VfL professionals played in the Wersestadion this Saturday. This included all the new recruits from outside. The team from the Regional League, which was relegated, also had a blue and white past. Coaches Björn Joppe, Fabian Holthaus and Patrick Polk all once played for VfL.

This is how the game in Ahlen went :

72′: Now Thiede has to intervene! Good ball into the interface, but the snapper remains the winner in the one-on-one.

76′: Jahn does well, wins the ball and passes it to Bamba. He tries to cross to Broschinski again, but gets stuck.
